Of the thousands of books written about prosperity, the Bible may well be the oldest. It is not only filled with guidelines for spiritual prosperity, the Bible contains numerous references to material prosperity. In the Book of John we read: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." John made reference to spiritual prosperity, "as your soul prospers", and he referred to material prosperity, "prosper in all things and be in health". This theme runs throughout the Bible.
Spiritual prosperity is one part of the total picture of prosperity and success, but it is the most important part. Financial prosperity endures for our time on Earth. On the other hand, spiritual prosperity is forever.
Throughout the Bible we learn of God's abundance, but we are cautioned that the love of money is wrong. Again, we need a blend of spiritual, financial, personal and physical prosperity.
